With the support of technology, the creative industries are among the fastest-growing sectors in Tanzania. Artists are the engine of any creative sector, and their success in marketing their skills make the industry more economically viable and sustainable. Due to the nature of the education system, social-political, and economic policies, the majority of artists in Tanzania are skillful, but they lack the capacity to market their skills effectively to earn a living for sustainable livelihood. Therefore, training on marketing their skills is one way to enable them to reach new audiences.
We had the privilege of conducting a training program for artists on Marketing their Artistic Skills. The main objective of the training project was to train artists from various backgrounds on how best to market their skills to potential clients in various sectors in Tanzania. The project was implemented in three phases from 2018 to 2020, during which we had the opportunity to evaluate each phase.
